20 Major Reasons Why Your Mail Order Business Could Fail. An interesting page, with no links that I could find where it came from. VERY blunt, I must warn you, but realistic.
Miscellaneous Starting and Managing a Business from Your Home is brought to you by the Small Business Association. I included this huge text page for those of you who are still worried about whether or not working from home is for you. Work at Home Moms Business Opportunities is also an interesting site. StudyWeb offers Internet-based employment opportunities that you may want to check out. Where else can you search for work that fits? How about the library? I have found that anything written by Sarah and Paul Edwards is wonderful, but please do make a point of checking out The Best Home Businesses for the 90s: The Inside Information You Need to Know to Select a Home-Based Business That's Right for You. It really is excellent. Secretarial Service How to Start Your Own Home Based Secretarial Service also comes from the Small Business Resource Center. Telecommuting If you want to go the route of telecommuting, I would suggest that you contact companies just like you would if you were looking for any other job just let them know that you are looking for work as a telecommuter. Or, if you are currently working, contact your human resources department and ask! (Even better, create a job plan as to how your job would be done from your home, and detail the cost savings for the company. More on this later this month.) June Langhoff's Telecommuting Page is written by June, the author of four books about telecommuting. She provides advice, a FAQ, a list of companies who have telecommuting employees, and, of course, a list of links to do futher research. Found Money International Employment Opportunities is one company that I found actively searches for telecommuters over the Internet. Take a peek (and don't forget to search for YOUR lost money!). Tutoring Tutoring was another home-based business that I never considered previous to writing this column. However, one quick read of the article below opened my eyes. What a great idea!
