Bed and Breakfast

I originally did not consider a Bed and Breakfast as a business that would suit work-at-home parents. But, after a little research, I thought, "Why not?" You do not have to leave your home, older children can help out with the cooking and cleaning, and the whole family can meet new and interesting people.

However, I can imagine that zoning regulations would be the biggest drawback to this venture. But it's worth making the phone call if you are interested! Bed and Breakfast: The Easiest Home Based Business gives some very brief information about having a Bed and Breakfast in your home.

Day Care

Ah, day care. The tried and true stay-at-home mom's business. In this day and age, there is always a great demand for quality one-on-one affordable child care, and this is where home-based day care business have a definite edge. I have spoken to many parents who run successful day cares from their homes, whether they work around school hours, or part time or full time. I must say, I have been tempted to venture into this myself. (Why haven't I? Well, it just wasn't work fit me and my family — for now.)
