Book Review:
"How To Stay Lovers For Life--Discover a Marriage Counselor's Tricks of the Trade" by Sharyn Wolf, C.S.W.
She has labeled her approach to relationships the "Guerrilla Mating Tactics" and details her four-part plan using examples from relationships that have worked for others. Her tactics are a system of strategies used to improve any relationship, and she emphasizes finding solutions to problems rather than examining the problems themselves. Perhaps the most emphatic statement she makes deals with finding humor in each relationship. Near the beginning of the book, she states that the first question she asks when someone tells her of his or her intention to marry is "does he or she make you laugh?" The sections of her book are neatly divided into several aspects of relationship revival including how to disarm conflicts, getting needs met, ways to call a truce, and improving sexual relations. She also offers a good list of places to seek professional help, a comprehensive bibliography, and follow-up information. Finally, the part of the book that I found to be most handy and helpful was her "Quick-Fix Guide" which lists fifty-three of the most common relationship complaints and how to solve them. Sharyn Wolf has also written "Guerrilla Dating Tactics." Her books can be found at Borders.com and Amazon.com. Go To Page: 1
