Book Review: "Ordinary Women, Extraordinary Sex"Dr. Sandra Scantling and Sue Browder have written a wonderful book subtitled "Every Woman's Guide To Pleasure and Beyond" which explores the mind-body-spirit connection within the context of a woman's sexuality. It was designed to provide women with new thoughts and tools to enhance their sexuality and to be able to experience peak sex, or supersexual connections as it was often called in the book. Dr. Scantling based her information on research which she had compiled through interviews, questionnaires, and personality inventories of eighty-sex ordinary women from many, different walks of life. What these women had in common was the fact that they were able to experience moments of deep absorption during both nonsexual and sexual times. Dr. Scantling believed that this complete absorption is what allows a woman to experience a supersexual connection. She and Ms. Browder were able to successfully describe a supersexual experience in part one of this book. In part two, they offered insights and steps which ordinary women reading the book could work on in their lives to eventually become supersexual as well. They finished the book with a section on guided imagery which teaches one deeper absorption in life, a comprehensive bibliography, and a useful index. I found this book easy and enjoyable to read. In case the title misleads some people, it does not contain any erotic stories, but it is very helpful for those who want to learn how to open themselves up to more deeply erotic and passionate sexual moments. While it was first printed in 1993, most bookstores should carry it or will be able to order it for anyone interested in buying it.
