American Rosey Fletcher earned a first place finish in the parallel slalom at the Snowboard World Cup on Sunday, January 7 in Kreischburg, Austria. She edged out Slovakian Jana Sedova in a head-to-head competition in the finals.
Fletcher flew to Austria after competiting in the parallel giant slalom event in the Chevy Truck U.S. Snowboard Grand Prix on January 5. Despite possible jet lag, Fletcher defeated last year's champion Isabelle Blanc from France, who took third this year. Sara Fischer of Sweden took fourth.
The World Cup continues on January 10 and 11 in Schoenried, Sweden with the giant slalom and parallel slalom races. For more information, visit www.ussa.org.
