Women's Lip - A Book Review

© Nancy Coulter

Roz Warren's newest book, Women's Lip, is a collection of humorous quotes by women. On the back of this book, it says "For whenever you can use a good laugh."

Ain't that the truth!

The first time I picked up this book was after I had gotten home from a very long and very stressful day of work. After going through the first few pages, I had a smile on my face and had already laughed out loud a few times. The stress of work became something of the forgotten world, and I was able to unwind without causing any necessary harm to myself or others. What a great way to relax and de-stress!

This book isn't some deep novel that you have to sink yourself into just to understand. It is a simple collection of quotes that can make you laugh in a second. Exactly what any woman should be looking for if she is trying to find an escape from the daily pressures of life!

What is so wonderful about the quotes in this book is that you can relate to every one of them! Even if it is a quote from Madonna, you find yourself thinking "I know exactyly what she means" (and then, of course, laughter ensues).

Not only is this book a great way to relax and humor yourself, it is a wonderful conversation piece. The perfect coffee table book! Sit it down before your dinner party guests come over, and it will be a great way to get people talking and laughing. Believe me, I tested it with my friends and it passed with flying colors!

While the quotes make you laugh, they can also make you think. Sometimes you end up thinking about the oddest things, or you could end up getting into a serious conversation about politics or the gender battle. So when the laughter dies down, there's always something to talk and think about.

Here are my favorites that cover just a few of the great quotes you can find in Women's Lip

About Sex...

"If the bedroom were a kitchen, women would be crockpots and men would be microwaves." - Diana Jordan

"Sex when you're married is like going to a 7-11. There's not much variety but at three in the morning, it's always there." - Carol Leifer

About Menstruation...

"Every month he asks me if I've got 'the curse.' So, finally, I told him, 'I must. I'm living with you, aren't I?'" - Stephanie Piro
