I Got To Push A Car!

Just so you know, Dawn happens to be the queen of driving cars out of the snow. She's had enough experience from the past two storms that she is the person I'd like to be stuck with in a snow storm. So we had Dawn on our side, which helped with getting the car out.

Shelley and I got behind the car and started pushing while Dawn did her driving. Suddenly, the car was free!! Dawn got the car back on the road, while we finished shoveling the drive so that she could get the car in.

Guess what? We did it all without any help from those big strong men who we (the weak, frail women) are supposed to depend on. Not once did we whine that we wished one of them was there to help. It was just us girls and the snow, and we won!

The next trick was to get Dawn's car in the driveway. This was when Dawn actually heard me say "Oh let me push the car again! That was fun!"

OK, so maybe the actual act of pushing the car wasn't so fun. Having car exhaust go up in your face, isn't that thrilling. Nor is slipping and sliding in the snow as you push. However, the exhilirating feeling after you get the car out and watch it drive safely away is amazing. At least as a woman it is.

We have come to depend on men for their strong, manliness. When we need someone for manual labor, the first person you turn to is normally a man. Women aren't limited to just inside, low-labor activities. We can shovel snow and push cars. Single women without male friends do it all the time. My mother did it all the time after my father left. And I've done it with the help of other women. It is possible.

So if you are a woman and have never picked up a snow shovel in your
