The Little Things


Have you ever just sat back and looked at the things around you and noticed how centered they are to men? I'm not trying to be a nit-pick. These little things aren't things that keep me awake at nights. They are just things that serve as a reminder as to how male oriented our society is.

I coach a swim team and have also been swimming on my own team since I was 3 years old. The boys events have always gone before the girls events. That's the way things have always been. When times are listed, the boys times go first, then the girls. Of course, on average, the boys get faster times than the girls. But why can't the girls ever go first?

Of course, there are lots of other things in our lives which are centered around men.
