The witch trials seem to be a long way back in history but they are not dead. Today there are still people tried and murdered for their alleged dealings in witchcraft and it must be wondered whether the people still killed in places such as Mexico and South Africa are as innocent of their supposed crime, as the people of ages past were. The last person held for witchcraft in England was a spiritualist who knew too much about World War II for the comfort of those in authority. Despite our knowledge, technology and "advanced" society, it would appear that some things have not changed over the centuries and fear of that which is different or unknown is still enough for one human to condemn another to death in the name of witchcraft.
