Before the Implants...
Before my new proportions were created, I had been very healthy and always busy with my son and daughter. I had redecorated an entire tri-level house. I had spackled, sanded and painted every room, made drapes and slip covers and refaced the kitchen cabinets. I made all our clothes and was always baking, making crafts and just doing things.
Oh, yes, I was self-conscious about my body. I had reached my full height of 5'8" by seventh grade and seemed to tower above everyone else. At a weight of 98 pounds, I guess my figure could have best been described as "spaghetti like." I 'm not sure which was worse, being so tall and thin, or having a flat chest. I do owe a note of thanks to our band director. He took films of the marching band as we practiced so he could refine our performances. One day he took me aside, and pointed out my posture as the band marched across the field. I was hunched over, with shoulders rounded forward and my head down. He kindly told me that I would look much better if I would concentrate on walking straight, with my head up and shoulders back. As a short man, he made me realize how lucky I was to be tall. In the breasts department, I managed to get by with toilet paper, and finally padded bras. I was a very self-conscious child and teenager and felt like such an "ugly duckling" that the breast issue wasn't one of my biggest concerns, then. Diminished Health.... Within a year after the implantation I began to suffer from repeated attacks of sinusitis. I had three to seven attacks a year for over ten years, and often they would escalate into bronchitis or walking pneumonia. I seemed to come down with every germ or bug that wafted by, and then would be dreadfully sick two or three times longer than anyone else. In 1973 I became extremely fatigued and felt terrible all the time. By then I had remarried and was running our own photography business which involved working twelve to fourteen hours a day, six or seven days a week. I would wake up tired every morning and so I began drinking a lot of cola with caffeine, just to keep going. I also began to have periodic, severe migraine headaches. Go To Page: 1 2
