Here are more of some of the most popular and useful herbs of all time. Although many are useful for a wide variety of ailments, each one is known for its particular value in the treatment of a specific malady.

Although the most convenient and preferred method for ingestion today is in the form of gelatin capsules, many may also be taken in tea form and fluid extracts. The choice is yours.

HAWTHORN: (Help for the heart.) Two cups of tea daily or 6 capsules have been known to relieve the symptoms of heart arrhythmia, which is an irregularity in the heartbeat. This herb won't help every kind of heart problem, but is worth a try for some.

HORSETAIL: (A beauty enhancer.) Three capsules each of horsetail and alfalfa seems to enhance the luster and lessen split ends in your hair. Dry, rough skin requires more oil and silicon. A diet which includes lots of olive oil, cheese, pasta, grapes, and grains supplemented with one teaspoon of olive oil before breakfast along with two capsules of horsetail and 800 I.U. of vitamin E will add needed moisture to skin. For oily skin, three capsules of horsetail along with use of an oatmeal-based soap is beneficial. Using some tincture of witch hazel on real oily areas after bathing will help to close pores and decrease oily secretions.

Horsetail is also a great aid for nail health and beauty. For more specific information on various nail problems and recommended treatments, see the informative and helpful book, The Power of Healing Herbs by Dr. John Heinerman.

Horsetail is an herb that works well with just about any other herb and provides an inexpensive way to making the most of your body's beauty.

JUNIPER: (A natural disinfectant.) Juniper berry extract has been used to cure infections from cuts, bedsores, herpes simplex sores, athlete's foot and has even eliminated warts. Juniper tea douche was used by a woman in Texas to cure a severe vaginitis or yeast infection. This marvelous herb seems to hold wondrous powers over infections of all kinds. It's certainly worth a try!

KAVA KAVA: (Natural tranquilizer.) This herb acts as a remarkable tranquilizer without impairment of mental judgment and leaves no untoward morning side effects. The best sources of kava kava come from Samoa or Fiji. Available in this country only in capsule form, two capsules per day on an empty stomach is recommended for general nerve maintenance.
