Here are more of some of the most popular and useful herbs of all time. Many are helpful for a wide variety of ailments, although each one is known for its particular value in the treatment of a specific malady.
CHICKWEED: (For cleaning the blood.) This herb has been maligned by farmers as "just a weed" for ages. Two cups of chickweed tea, or 6 capsules a day, or just 20 drops under the tongue will cleanse your blood and help bring you back to health. It's a valuable tonic for tired blood. CRANBERRY: (A great aid for treatment of urinary tract infection.) Urinary tract infections (UTI) are common, irritating afflictions for many women and some men. These seemingly harmless though irritating infections can develop into serious and even life-threatening infections which threaten the kidneys. (If you've seen "The Green Mile" this disease plays an important and memorable part in the story line and lets us know it is nothing to take lightly.) Since we don't have access to a miracle worker, it's a good thing to know that powdered juice of fresh cranberries is a medical marvel. Cranberry owes its healing factors to a special factor in the juice that makes pathogenic bacteria less likely to cling to the surface of urinary tract cells. This factor also makes it an excellent therapy for kidney stones. 2-4 capsules daily between meals is a good dose for patients with urinary symptoms. DANDELION: (Liver cleanser.) Here's a great alternative for coffee lovers. Dandelion coffee is hard to detect from the real thing and it won't play havoc with your liver or your nerves. The bitter components in dandelion root that give it the "coffee" flavor and smell seem to also activate the liver into producing more bile, which we all know is a necessary aid to digestion. If you're not a coffee drinker or just can't imagine giving up your daily coffee, try 20 drops of dandelion root fluid extract twice daily with meals. It also seems to serve as a great liver cleanser for alcoholics going into recovery. Dandelion flowers have a very high lecithin concentration which makes it a great source of this element which aids in the metabolism of fats. Two tablespoons of lecithin granules every morning before breakfast is a good dose to take.
