From where I was lying, I could see out the back windows and I was amazed at what I saw. It was about a 30-minute drive and all the way I observed the most beautiful sky I have ever seen! There were gorgeous billowy clouds above rolling hills and valleys of dark green trees and meadows full of wild flowers. The sky was alive with ever-changing cloud formations and above the clouds were various shades of pink, blue and purple. I've seen a lot of beautiful pictures and fascinating skies in my lifetime, but none could equal the beauty of the sky that night! It was as though God was treating me to a vision of my very own, for no one else seemed to see what I was seeing. I pointed it out to the paramedics when we arrived at the hospital.
"Oh, yes," they said, preoccupied. I just couldn't understand how they could be so nonchalant about something so utterly beautiful. I realized later on that it was all in my imagination...but I prefer to believe that God was showing me some of His works of beauty. He was showing me His promise of better things to come. I'll be forever thankful for that trip and the unforgettable sky! I was soon checked into the Rehabilitation Center and settled into my room. A room full of dingy furnishings, unmatched four poster beds and moving shadows.
