The Army Inside

There is, or should be, a battle raging inside your body at all times. In a healthy body there's a constant war going on against parasites, toxins, bacteria, and a vast array of poisons caused by the ingestion of prescribed medications, foods and the invisible microbes which inhibit the natural functioning of our life sustaining organs.:

I'm not a doctor, but I have used and studied various herbal remedies and nutritional supplements and their effects on disease and toxins. One of the most important fighters and protectors of our bodies is our own immune system.

An innumerable supply of herbs and supplements have been placed here on earth to help the body heal itself. Use of these natural substances is what is called, "natural medicine," and millions of people around the globe have relied on them for their primary health care for centuries.

In this day of amazing advances in medicine and technology, we're still frustrated with modern medicine's failure to put a stop to the increasing epidemics of allergies, arthritis, cancer, fatigue, lupus, and an ever growing list of new diseases. One of the major concerns today is the increasing evidence of the frightening side effects of surgery and drugs.

How can we fight back? The first step is to boost the fighting power of the immune system. How can we accomplish this?:

A good place to start is with an antioxidant. This is a substance which inhibits oxidation, which is a chemical reaction where one or more electrons are transferred from one atom or molecule to another, also called redox. When normal cells are altered in this way, poisons are created. These poisons, or free radicals, become an army of attackers and they will run amuck within our cells and organs unless controlled by our own body's immune system. Antioxidants destroy these disease-causing molecules.

You can get single substances which are great antioxidants, and health food stores have a vast number of antioxidant combinations.

The antioxidants listed are only some, by no means all, of the available herbal antibiotics.

Single antioxidants are: Vitamin E, C, beta-carotene, and alpha-lipoic acid, which also stimulates the body to recycle used-up antioxidants, thus increasing the power of vitamins C and E. Ginseng is perhaps one of the oldest herbal remedies for strengthening the immune system and increasing endurance.

CO-q10 is being studied for its ability to give a boost to the immune cells. Goldenseal cleanses the blood and liver; Burdock Root acts as a blood purifier, diuretic and a diaphoretic induces sweating which is a cleansing action of the body).
