The Healing Power of Touch

  • Yoga, running, swimming. Any exercise that stimulates your skin and has you pounding the ground is beneficial. Remember, touching* is often just as gratifying as being touched!

*Note: Concerns about sexual harassment have made touching a "touchy" issue. Just follow a few guidelines when touching:

    1. Stay away from body parts like buttocks, stomach, chest and areas below the belt. Especially when hugging or touching other people's children.
    2. Men tend to be standoffish when it comes to hugs. Taps on the shoulder are often a good starting point.
    3. Be extremely careful about touching at work. Some workplaces are hypersensitive about touching. Make your touches in the office feel friendly, not flirty.
