Spa at Home

Have you ever wanted to go to a spa but couldn't afford it? Have you ever gone to a spa and remember the indulgent pleasure you received? Well, you don't have to wait until you get the money or return to the spa to get or repeat these wellness benefits as home.

To create a home spa you must take all five senses into consideration

1. Sound - Spend some time gathering sounds that you have find relaxing. You can purchase CDs that play relaxing music like water running over rocks, the whispering sound of a forest, etc. Even try hanging some wind chimes in the room and let a gently breeze from a window or artificial means move them around to create the soft sound they bring. 2. Sight - Create a visual experience. Get rid of clutter in the room where you plan on developing your spa. Incorporate colors that you may find relaxing. Add things from nature, such as flowers, leaves, pine cones, etc. Even add candles in various colors and sizes. What about shapes? This can heightened you spa awareness.

3. Touch - Soft, smooth, gentle textures. Use what feels good to you. A pair of fluffy, pink slippers, your white, terry cloth robe, even a pair of silk pajamas will do. The purpose is to bring every bit of you into this spa experience.

4. Taste - Think of foods and beverages that not only taste good, but also make you feel good then treat yourself to them! For most women indulging in chocolate will be it. For me, it would have to be a Pepsi and some Ben and Jerry's Caramel Ice Cream.

5. Smell - Use smells that affect you physically and mentally. Try essential oils, incenses, candles, potpourri, perfume, etc. You want a smell that is going to bring out an aromatherapic experience.

Developing a spa in your home can be however you like. Take you time and gather all you need before you begin then lock the door and indulge.
