An Extra Pair of Shoes An extra pair of shoes is vital. Not just because shoes are a great accessory, but because it only makes sense to have an extra pair just in case the pair you're wearing break. It is also a good idea for your extra shoes to be different from the ones you wear on your trip. If you end up spending time at a beach house flip-flops are the best choice, but after the sunset it can get very cold. Having a pair of running shoes will help keep your feet protected. There are two methods of packing shoes. The first is to place them flat at the bottom of your bag where they are the least out of the way and are less likely to fall out when you are searching your bag. The other is to pack first and then place the shoe individually in the bag where they fit best. I prefer the first method but see which one works for you.

Travel-sized Accessories and Kits If you are going to be longer than a weekend it is advisable to take some shampoo and conditioner and soap with you. You may need them depending on where you are staying. Always use the travel-size bottles that you can pick up for less than a dollar at any drugstore. This way if you end up only using a little or none of it during your trip then you can just pour it back into the original bottle when you return home. The same idea goes for toothbrush and toothpaste. If you simply have to have your full-sized toothbrush fine, but take the small travel toothpaste tube. Plenty will be left over so you can use it on your next trip as well. That goes for deodorant too. Get the travel-size. Travel bottles can also be used for hairspray, body and face lotion, hair gel and soap (bar and liquid).

Hopefully, these little tips will help you (and me) with your next travel plan. The most important part, I think, is just realistically viewing your travel. If you are traveling in the States it is likely you can pick up at your destination whatever you might have forgotten to pack. And if you are one of the lucky ones who know how to pack properly let me know. The less luggage I carry the more my aching back will thank you
