The first thing you notice about her isn't her clothes. It is the wide generous smile, the cute, slightly turned up nose and those pretty brown eyes that are open and welcoming. It is that face that you immediately are drawn too. It is both pleasant and pretty and you can't seem to wait to hear what might first come out of that mouth of hers. Will it be a wacky comment, a little-girl giggle or maybe a "lad-dee-dah!"? Whatever it may be it is guaranteed to wake you up and pay attention to this women. And then once the initial surprise of seeing this woman has passed, it is then you notice the clothes of Diane Keaton...
What really is a legend? Some think that is a person who holds up to the testament of time. Katharine Hepburn thought it was merely someone who lived long enough for people to notice they were still around and then "revere them like some kind of old building." Whatever the proper definition might be Keaton certainly deserves that kind of description. She is both silly and smart, reserved and wacky, she covers herself from chin to toes yet will do a nude scene in a movie for an old friend. Some might think this would make her complicated or in some way hypocritical, but that would be false. Diane Keaton is that rare breed of women who do what they want and don't bother to even wonder what people think of them. "This is who I am!" Keaton has declared more than once and it is about time people started to listen to her. The hats, the ties, the baggy pants are her signature and more importantly her armor against an often critical world. To see Diane in her clothes should bring relief to women all over the world. Here is a woman who lives by her own rules and that is something every woman should be proud of.
