Summer is here and color is back with a vengeance. Reds, purples, oranges, pinks, and greens can be seen on anything from sandals to purses to shirts and capri pants. You can check out the colors in anything magazine from InStyle, W, Harper's Bazaar and Vogue. Summer is a great time of celebration and people are ready to not only show off their summer clothes, but also their great accessories. And we had all better hurry, because after Labor Day weekend all of those etiquette rules kick back in.
The beach is the best place to go to see the brightest colors. Brighter shades are even coming back to beach towels. These kinds of towels have always had color but the designs have recently become more female friendly. Striped beach towels in citrus colors by Summer Living can get you in the mood for a little sun, and Ralph Lauren Home has created soft cotton terry towels that include a pillow with it. This is the perfect item to take to the beach, especially if you like to take several books and magazines while I sit in the sun slathered in sunscreen. For further comfort check out the Cotton canvas beach mattress or the woven straw beach mat that is water resistant. All these latest items are not only eye-pleasing, but they also provide the comfort that has been missing in the past.
Beach bags are another fun, and much needed item this summer. Two's Company offers bags that come in colors of lemon, hot orange and ruby red. Not only are these bags roomy, but they also have insulation to keep items such as your sunblock and your bottled water from warming up. Another good item is the waterproof tote by Monica Lazzari. Both these bad are so comfortable and useful that you can use them in everyday life and not just for the beach. Even technology is getting a helping hand from fashion. The tote bag by Felicidad is a durable silver color (perfect for any outfit) and also has the unique feature of a special pocket to carry and protect your Apple iPod. If you are looking for something a little more decorative checkout the flower printed canvas bags by Voluspa. These flower bags come with a fabric-trimmed towel making it handy for the gym, beach, and in this heat, just about anywhere. My favorite item is the aluminum folding chair by Lexon. It has an attached backpack carrier making it easier for the walk from your car to the best spot on the beach. Folding chairs provide some distance between you and the sand, and it gives you a chance not to have the sand venture into those not so easy to reach areas!
