The first thing you see when you enter Kelster's Land Of Women's Basketball is a large picture of Jennifer Azzi with the title of the page. Kelly Thornton, the author of this page, writes that her page "... is dedicated to all female athletes, not just basketball players. Each and every female athlete makes a difference in the future of women's sports." This page has so much information, it would take at least a few hours to read everything.
Kelly has biographies for thirty players. Some of these biographies include Jennifer Azzi, Jennifer Rizzotti, Kate Starbird, Katrina McClain, Shelly Sandie, Katy Steding, Jamila Wideman, Teresa Edwards, Ruthie Bolton-Holifield, and many others, including the 1996 Lady Vols team members. These biographies include statistics and personal information, like that Jennifer Azzi's favorite movie is Chariots of Fire. In this section, Kelly has four teams, the 1996 Lady Volunteers, the 1997 Lady Volunteers, the 1998 Lady Volunteers, and the 1996 Olympic team. You can click on them and receive their team stats, and a team picture. The pictures are good quality and quick loading, despite their large size. Kelly has a photo gallery for almost every player that she has biographies for. Her Chamique Holdsclaw picture page has probably the most pictures in it, with forty. Most pages have about twelve or eighteen pictures. The pictures are all good quality and fast loading, which makes browsing easier. Links: This link page is great. There are some great sites listed, such as a few fan sites for (and by) ABL fans. She also lists Just Sports for Women, Hoop Editions, USA basketball, and more. Books: Kelly lists several great women's basketball books on this page. She gives you great summaries of each book, which you might not find elsewhere. These are a great help when deciding to buy the books, and she even has a link to BarnesandNoble.com in case you want to buy the book. Magazines and Videos This page lists all three women's sports magazines, and a little blurb on what they are all about. She also lists women's basketball videos, including a few I didn't know existed. She also gives a summary on what is in these, which I appreciated very much.
