Only on the WNBA official web site can you read about Rebecca Lobo pondering monkeys, Cynthia Cooper's decision to wear knee pads, the Houston Comet's re-peat, and receive basketball tips from Sparks guard Penny Toler.
At "Points From Penny," Penny Toler answers fan's questions about Basketball, getting recruited, and herself. Chats go on all the time, players take an hour or so to take time out and answer fans questions. Rebecca Lobo did the latest, I believe. The theater has clips from games, and interviews with a few players. They show the Houston Comets winning the championship, and great moves by other players. Each team has its own section of the site dedicated to them, with Bios of the players, schedules, stats, and a place where you can buy gear. You can read answers from the Mailbox, where fans can write to the players and eventually get an answer. Each player has a biography, with an accompanying picture. Any news about players on that team is posted there. On the Comets site they have a number of articles about Kim Perrot, who is battling cancer and just had surgery to remove brain tumors. The Comets have set up a special e-mail box just for Kim, where fans can send get-well letters. RebeccaLobo.com is a portion of the site dedicated to Rebecca, with Rebecca's "World According to Me," an online journal written by Rebecca; a fan club which you have to pay to join; Baby photos; a section on "The Home Team" with excerpts from the book; Ask Rebecca; and her Biography. Right now there is a poll asking what hair style she should wear next season, and whether or not you liked her braids last summer. In my opinion, her Journal entries are the best part. They are supposed to be updated each week, but seem to be updated whenever she wants, usually two or three times a month. Her entries are about whatever seems to cross her mind, usually she tells about what she has been doing lately, and some weird but funny thing that she has been thinking about lately - i.e., monkeys, why so many men wear blue suits, or the best dog toy ever invented. I guess Rebecca has more free time than we all thought. Go To Page: 1 2
