The Blue Book went through ten editions and 90 printings in Emily’s lifetime. A syndicated column that appeared in more than 200 newspapers, her own radio show and several more books on etiquette and home décor followed her most successful book. In 1946, Emily founded the Emily Post Institute for the Study of Gracious Living.

The original Miss Manners died in 1960, at the age of 87. The Emily Post Institute and her etiquette books are carried on today by third generation Posts.
