Louisa May Alcott died at age 55 on March 6, 1888, two days after her beloved father. She is buried on Author’s Ridge in Concord’s Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, alongside her family and friends and mentors, including Thoreau, Emerson and Hawthorne.
