Mary went back to school at Fordham University in 1974 and graduated summa cum laude with a BA in philosophy. Mary has received 13 honorary doctorate degrees and numerous other accolades, including the Woman of Achievement award, the Irish Women of the Year award, the Horatio Alger award and has been made a Dame three times over. Perhaps the award that brought her the greatest happiness, though, was the one that came after 32 years of widowhood when The Queen of Suspense married John Conheeny, a retired Merrill Lynch Futures CEO.
