Monica Gorges on the Big Apple

In the March 19 New York magazine, Monica Lewinsky is the featured bit of fluff'n'stuff in the cover story. In a picture that is eerily reminiscent of the "new and improved" Linda Tripp on George magazine's cover, her publicist should have nixed the puffy shouldered lilac blazer Ms. Lewinsky sports. Luckily, this is the only part of the feature that is really negative. A feat, considering the history and dubious future of this girl.

And why do I use "girl," you may ask? Within the interview, Lewinsky states that most people think she's younger than 27 because, for five years of media attention, she remained the 21-year-old, beret-wearing, president-hugging girl that news outlets continually used.

This profile showcases Monica as a twentysomething on her own in New York. However, not every twentysomething has sources of revenue due to 20/20 interviews and HBO documentaries. Nonethessless, Monica is firmly entrenched in our nation's history, whether we care to admit it or not. To brush up on your history, check out the article in New York, currently on newsstands.
