Recovery is a simple process. We try to make it more complex than it needs to be. It cannot be hurried. Recovery and spiritual growth must unfold one day at a time. They advance in the quiet moments where we meet God and allow him or her to touch our hearts.
Here is the commitment necessary to recovery: Recovery implies that something has gone wrong. We become entangled, stuck, bogged down, bound, broken. We have a need to be healed. Recovery is a commitment to change. Change is a demanding process. It requires sacrifice. It requires time and repetitive action. There are no quick fixes in recovery. Recovery means facing the truth about ourselves. Sometimes, that truth can be painful. But it is also freeing. Recovery means giving up our old destructive patterns and learning new life-giving patterns. Recovery means taking responsibility for our lives. It is something painful and it takes time. Each of us were given a life. We choose our lifestyle. Do you have a commitment to a lifestyle of recovery? How do we change? One day at a time. That is the purpose of love. To serve God and the people around us. Go To Page: 1
