Similarities?

This being the 60th Anniversary of Pearl Harbor, brings to mind memories of that historical day.

My Grandfather was a Pearl Harbor survivor. He is deceased, however, I remember him telling me about standing on the beach in Hawaii while the Japanese Suicide Pilots were coming in. He recalled to me that one of the planes was so low and so close to him that he looked the pilot directly in the eyes. I don't know about you but that would raise the hair on the back of anyone's neck. Grandfather was on R&R from the Naval Aircraft carrier that he was assigned to and luckily for me . . . he survived the attack on Pearl Harbor.

In some ways, the attack of 9-11 was similar. It was a surprise and we watched in horror as it happened. I wonder what Grandfather would have thought had he been here to watch the airliner fly into the World Trade Center on television. I know it was not the same as being there, but watching that on television surely made the hair on the back of my neck stand up.
