Final Mailing!

Talk about last minute nerves!

Waiting to see if your final mailing will reach the voters before election day.

You have prepared a dynamite piece and gone through all the work and expense of this mailing and you then realize that your fate is in the hands of the United States Post Office!

Not saying that they don't to an excellent job, but mail does sometimes get delayed passed a target mailing date.

If you understand the production schedule of the typical mass mailing, it may not be quite so scary.

No matter how sophisticated your voters may be, your mailing piece must shout out for attention to compete with all the junk mail and expensive advertising pieces received in an average household on a regular basis.

Make sure your piece looks classy, is made with quality materials and looks professionally done. Begin layout and design of the piece in enough time to get it done and ready for mailing.

The final mailing is to go out to the people that you think will vote for you.

Proofread and proofread and proofread! If you right it, always have someone else proof it. Always proofread the blue line and then ask to do a press check so you can see the photo quality, etc. Once your piece is off the press, let it dry before folding, trimming, or sizing. And remember to allow about 5 days for the printing process.

Call the Bulk Mail Department and let them know when you are bringing in the mailing and you be there when the post office accepts or denys it. Yes, i said denys it. Make an onsite verification that your mail is accepted and processed by the post office. Believe me, if there is anything wrong with your paperwork, the postal
