Vandalism is a common occurence during a campaign. Paper signs are less expensive, but easier to distroy. Most times they can just be stolen off the metal frame. Several of my large wooden lawn signs were destroyed by someone with an axe. But whoever told you that campaigns are not competitive? *smile*

Most vandalism takes place at night and so you will need to have a yard-sign committee. The yard sign locations will need to be checked and kept up. You don't want to make the homeowner angry because the sign is an eye sore. Incidents like that can lose you votes.

The weather can also be a vandal. The wind, the rain, and other types of bad weather can easily destroy your lawn signs. Therefore, the more durable your signs the better.

The most prized locations for yard signs are the most traveled streets in your designated voting district. Also, in a block, corner yards are the most valuable. Yards that are close to an elementary school where parents have to drive their children to school are good, as well.

One thing to remember is that a sign in the yard does not alway mean you have a vote in that house. . .!

You can ask business owners if they will display posters in their windows, but most times they do not want to choose up sides for business reasons.
