Healing circles are an interesting way of sending someone energy who, for whatever reason, needs the extra boost to heal themselves. Generally, this is done with a group of people, brought together by common friendships or familial ties, although it can be done in a solitary situation. The circle is cast, and the energy raised through chanting, dancing, or singing. At the peak, the participants will fall silent, directing the raised energy to the high priest or priestess (in a coven ritual setting), the leader of the ritual, or forming their own cone of power (if in solitary setting). The person channeling the energy from this point, will then release it stating the intended destination, and purpose. All participants will visualize the person(s) for whom the energy has been released.
Before the circle is released, participants will generally ground the excess energy through meditation methods, or Gaia Healing. The circle is then released, and the persons involved will share beverages and a light snack. Having been involved in these circles, I can tell you that a few crackers, cheese and a glass of wine or juice afterwards is a welcome sight! For some reason, many people experience lightheaded-ness following such an energy raising, and mistakenly attribute it to the use of their own energies. This is not always the case, as you should be drawing energy from the Higher source, or from the Earth herself. Often, and I am not sure why, the lightheaded-ness is due to a drop in blood sugar levels. A friend who is borderline diabetic tested this theory by testing his blood prior to and following a healing ritual. Sure enough, it was lower than it had been prior to the ritual. Oh, the mysterious ways of energy working!!
The following is a sample healing circle ritual I worked out. It's only been used once, and even at that, I changed words here and there. Feel free to use this anytime you wish, with proper credit given if re-printing it somewhere. Always remember that you should personalize any spell or ritual you find in books or on-line. It makes the energy so much more powerful! NOTE: The ritual here is designed for use with either birthday candles or spell candles (those of a very small nature).
Healing Circle
Stand in the center of the circle. Place three purple candles and three blue candles on the altar or workspace. Light healing incense (or favorite scent of recipient).
