Reiki Part 3Welcome back to the final installment in the Reiki series. I have covered most of the information, however there are a few things I wanted to add, such as a method for self-treatment using Reiki. So, with out any further chatter, here we go! In the first installment, I wrote about the different levels of Reiki, and I would like, at this point, to describe the possible after-effects of Reiki attunement. One newly attuned to Reiki may experience what is known as the "21-day Cleansing". In some, it is so mild as to be negligible. In others it can be almost debilitating. Symptoms can include stomach cramps, mild to severe nausea and headaches, occasional dizziness, diarrhea, or constipation. To lesson effects of cleansing, the best thing to do is use Reiki, on yourself and others. The more it is used, the more you become accustomed to it, and the self healing takes place. I have just completed my second level attunement, and (most likely because I have used healing energies before) the cleansing was not too bad. I ended up with a mildly sore throat, and some dizziness. One person I have discussed this with has experienced a loss of time-the attunement was completed, and she next found herself in bed, several hours later. Thankfully, she had been at home as the attunement was done through distance working. I promised a glimpse of Reiki treatment techniques, and here it is. I have chosen a method of self-treatment that is to be used prior to healings. It puts you in better contact with the energy, and allows it to flow freely through you. It is known as the "Reiki Shower" method. I found this method in some research dropped off at my home, and have since found that the source is most likely on the Energy Healing Website I have provided a link for. The original source is a book entitled "Modern Reiki Method For Healing" by Japanese Reiki Master Mr. Hiroshi Doi (ISBN code 4-9006631-34-7c0077). The Gassho position mentioned here is one where the practitioner sits or stands with hands folded in front of their chest as if in prayer. Stand or sit. Make yourself comfortable; close your eyes completely, or leave them partially open. Breathe slowly, but normally. Gassho position. Move hands as high as possible, with hands apart. Imagine you are receiving a shower of vibrations or light from the Source of the Universe, and feel it. At the same time, repeat Cho-Ku-Rei for 2nd level students, and Dai-Ko-Myo for 3rd level student. Feel the vibrations of reiki energy; move
