Compete With the Masters - And Win© Lea Moore
So...you're getting tired of being left off the promotions list and being passed by when you post for an internal position. You're sick to death of the dead end job that will be your workplace until the day you retire unless you do something to change it. But what? You don't have the time to go to a traditional school. Where could you possibly fit in the class time and study time into your busy schedule? Between soccer games and swimming lessons, ballet and PTO, there aren't more than a few minutes left in the day to get you laundry done, let alone
Besides, you don't have the money to pay for it. You're income is just beyond the level at which you would be eligible for grants and scholarships are hard to come by for non-traditional students whose GPA in high school was something less than appealing. There are those weekend classes, of course, but who would watch the kids and do the housework? Okay. Let's start with the list of excuses. 1. No time 2. No money 3. Grades Then ask yourself this. What would it be worth to lose 30 minutes of sleep each night and a few dollars a month in order to study for and get the certifications you desperately need in order to climb the corporate ladder and compete with the recent college grads who have no experience but keep getting the jobs that you apply for, even though you are more skilled? Would it be even more enticing if I told you that you could work at your own pace and take the certification test as many times as you want, until you pass it, and get that piece of paper that will enable you to put a bullet on your resume? How about if you are self-employed and your bids are rejected because you don't have the "qualifications" contractors need to hire you for the job? Would you like to help yourself become more competitive? If this sounds like a plug for a fly-by-night school that has no credentials, please keep reading. I have personally gained 13 certifications over the past 8 months. Aside from a monthly membership of about $15.00, and $25.00 for each certification preparation, the only other cost you will have is at the book store. You can purchase study guides, at reasonable fees, by contacting of stopping by Books-A-Million or Barnes and Noble. The certification site I am referring to is Brainbench.com. It has over 350 certification tests available in a variety of areas from technology to office management. Many are even free. Go To Page: 1 2
