Spring Fever

With Spring in the air, we can all do with some motivation. I am hoping to inspire fresh ideas and positive changes to your life. At the same time, by writing a pep talk for others, I get one for myself so here goes.

I don't know about you, but when Spring rolls around I get restless. I guess its Spring Fever. Maybe its the renewal of nature that inspires Spring Fever but whatever it is, it inspires me to change things like no other time of the year. It seems a little easier to clean house and fix problems during these inspirational times. Its also a good time to look at your life and make positive changes.

Take time during Spring to evaluate your own personal happiness. It is a great time to think of making changes like taking a class or starting a hobby. Renew yourself like Spring renews the world. It doesn't matter how wonderful it is outside, if you are unhappy on the inside. Spring can also be a time for reflecting on the past events and determining a new plan of action for the future. Somehow the change in the season makes the atmosphere right for personal change too.

Spring doesn't just have to be about change. It can be a time of renewed energy too. As Spring time rouses all the sleeping flowers, it awakens new life in me too. It is always easier for me be motivated in the Spring. For me, it is the best time to make a list of all the things I really want to change about my life and determine how to go about making the changes. Having the desire to change things without a plan can lead to no change at all.

Steps to change:

  • Make a list of things/changes/goals to make YOU happy
  • Set dates for each thing/change/goal to be accomplished
  • List the steps necessary to accomplish the tasks or change or meet the goal
  • Allot time EVERYDAY to work toward your goals
  • Reward yourself for accomplishing each step

Use Spring as an excuse to be good to yourself and make changes in your life that make you happier. Life is short and its all about the journey, so make the trip fun and memoriable.
