Romance in the Real World

Perhaps Miriam-Webster has the idea after all.

Romance still exists in today's marriage, it just takes a different form from that espoused on the big screen. It's not about gifts, flowers, candy or jewelry, it's about consideration and respect. Pulling yourself out of bed when your infant begins to squall for the fourth time that night since your spouse rose the other three occasions, encouraging him to take a four day golfing trip, making reservations for a her to spend a long weekend at a spa, hustling the kids to pick up their toys and clean themselves before your spouse arrives home - all these things are fall under the real word category of romance. As a matter of fact, the gesture that is guaranteed to warm the cockles of your partner's heart is far easier than choosing the right color of shirt or size of pants. It's often the most under-utilized.

Two simple words - Thank you.
