Avantika is married to Yash Birla, the scion and only heir of the Birla empire. A simple Maharashtrian girl, Avantika met her husband while they were still in college. It was a classic case of love at first sight. Since none of them would agree to propose, the lovebirds hung around with friends who were only interested in having a good time. It was only much later, that they would finally tie the knot. Her parents were kept in the dark. They would not agree to have a Marwari son-in-law. Yash's parents also had reservations, but they too, eventually came around and gave their blessings.

It was then that tragedy struck in a sinister manner. Yash lost his family in one stroke, leaving a huge void in his life. Avantika, too, faced a complete somersault in her life. From the ordinary girl-next-door, she was suddenly bacame the "the Birla Bahu" (daughter-in-law). Overnight she was Mrs Birla and held the reins of a powerful family. Avantika recalls it was an alien and disconcerting experience to her. Supporting her distraught husband and at the same time managing the huge household occupied most of her waking hours. Yash desperately tried to involve her in his business of by introducing her to computers.

Their first child was born in the first year of their marriage. Avantika thanks her lucky stars for a loving husband and doting in-laws. Yash's family gave her lot of love and support. She is still grateful to them to have accepted her so completely.

Over time, she involved herself in the family's charitable trust. The time had come for her to move still further ahead to utilise all her talents and realize her dreams. Thus REVERIE the Fashion Botique was born and it is true that taught her a thing or two about life. REVERIE made her people-savvy and showed her who her true friends while also making her more aware of finance and business.

After the birth of a second son, both wished for a daughter. Avantika and Yash feel that sons cannot be what a daughter is to her parents. Girls, Avantika says, are different. They are always there even when they are'nt there. Their daughter is called SHLOKA SUJATA BIRLA (Sujata after Yash's late sister).
