More fireworks at Minocqua. Bring the New Year in with a bang when fireworks light up the sky at 10:00 PM

NEW YEARS DAY
Start the day right, in Price County, with the Polar Bear Plunge into icy Long Lake at Phillips to help Big Brothers & Big Sisters. If that didn't quite sober you up, head over to Lugerville, for the Lugerville Chasers Snowmobile Club New Years Day Hangover Party. The party features food, games, raffles and fun for all.

Door County has its own Polar Bear Swim at 12 noon sharp. Head for Lakeside Park Beach in Jacksonport if you need to cool off. To warm up again, take in the New Years Day Parade in Egg Harbor. No matter what the weather, the parade goes on and everyone is welcome to participate. It starts on the south end of Egg Harbor at 1:00 PM.

Port Washington hosts a Polar Bear Dip. For more information call 800-719-4881.

Iowa County has a Polar Bear Dip, but you'll have to call 800-719-4881 to get more information. If jumping into icy water isn't on your list of resolutions, consider an unforgettable experience at Christmas at House on the Rock. More than 6,000 Santas, trimmings, music, are presented in a unique setting so you can enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of Christmas.

Folklore Village will be presenting its 55th Celebration of Folklore and Traditions from Around the World. Pre-register by December 20, to participate in this event, which includes feasting, music, dancing, crafts, games and workshops.

Not to be left out, Sheboygan has a Polar Bear Swim at Northside Beach on Lake Michigan. At 1 PM, 400 intrepid swimmers charge in the lake amidst the ice floes, just to prove they can. (Not everyone in Wisconsin is insane, but sometimes it is hard to prove on New Years Day.)

New Years Day marks the first day of the Winter Carnival in Cornell. Through February 28 you can participate in events ranging from a medallion hunt, family sledding, alumni basketball, king and queen coronation, and a Pinewood Derby.
