The virus @ ANTIVIRUS

There are many anti virus programs, Indian and foreign those do the job quite well. I is well worth buying one and getting the updates regularly. All good anti virus programs should have a memory resident component that is capable of running in the background without affecting system performance significantly. It should monitor all files that are opened, saved or copied to your system for potential viruses.

It's likely now more so then ever before that you have an Internet connection your system has a greater risk of being infected by a virus. With real time protection you can insure that possible infected email attachments and cookies as well as the Java/ActiveX programs are not saved to your system.

The ability to detect virus in compressed files such as .ZIP and .ARJ files is important because compressed files are a popular way of transferring data to internet.

If you want adequate protection from these new viruses you must invest in a package that provides regular updates at regular intervals of a week or month some even provide updates as soon as a new virus is discovered while these updates are generally free initially some developers start charging for these updates after sometime.

It is a good idea to check before you buy whether the anti virus program is ICSA (International Computer Security Association) certified or not. The certification ensures that the scanner part of the program detects at least 90% of the viruses in the comprehensive list maintained ICSA (exceeding 15,000). In addition it also guarantees that the component resident memory detects 90% of the viruses in ICSA's collection without giving a false alarms.
