Moorish gardens of the Alhambra and Generalife palaces at Granada, where water dominates
the environment and makes a haven for local birds.
Though not true "let-it-run-wild" wildscape gardens, Persian gardens were an important
ecological resource for the birds and some of the plants of these lands. Although we most often
think of wildscaped gardens as a regrowth of nature, there are cases when a fantasy design can
do the job of providing water and food and habitat for local wildlife while providing an
aesthetically pleasing haven for the humans who created it, too.
