Rocky Horror Story

Ok, we're all familiar with the name "Rocky" and I wonder how many famous examples you can name.

If you were a classic boxing enthusiast, then you'd know the name, Rocky Marciano, a very famous boxer who became heavyweight champion of the world in 1952.

Next, we have the infamous squirrel and moose pair of television fame, Rocky and Bullwinkle.

Movie wise, we have Sylvester Stallone starring in the life of an aspiring boxer spanning five "Rocky" movies and last but not least, we have the notorious 1975 classic cult movie the, " Rocky Horror Picture Show".

I'm sure you're wondering where I'm going with this theme and what I want to do is introduce you to a new member of this elite group.

I'm very happy to present to you an outstanding, loving, compassionate, gentle, sharing, cuddly and all around good guy, Rocky the squirrel. (heh-heh)

Yes, I know we already have a stellar example of squirrel-a-tude with Rocky and his pal Bullwinkle, but there's room for another to share the limelight.

Rocky shares his home with my work friend, April, her brother Marty, her daughter Aleshia and two hamsters and several cats. He is not quite a year old and has added much "excitement" to their lives.

April gives us frequent updates about Rocky's shenanigans and we feel like he's part of our work family. Just another of the menagerie of cats, dogs, birds, hamsters, fish and ducks that we discuss daily.

Well, it seems Rocky has pretty much determined that he is a "one-human" only interacting squirrel and has chosen April as his mom and his only friend. She accepted this while he was a very tiny baby and figured he'd grow to accept everyone else, but that is not to be!

Recently, April received a call at work from her brother, Marty. He asked if she could come home immediately because Rocky was in a "mood" and had bitten Aleshia. Not a bad bite, just a nip but when Marty went to pick him up to put him back in his cage, well, Rocky just went all squirrelly. You have to understand, he is a lean-not-mean squirrel that packs a credible nip, can move very fast over arms and shoulders, knows how to use his right and left paws (and claws) to their fullest, and has great agility. All necessary attributes when you have the responsibility of a name like "Rocky".

Now April is asking (we could hear this conversation) why did she need to come home? She told him to just catch him and put him in his cage. There in lies the problem. Marty said he couldn't and when April asked why, he said he and Aleshia had had to escape quickly from Rocky and had locked themselves in the bathroom!
