My prayers go out to all the families and friends who have lost loved ones and to all the firefighters, medical personnel and the many volunteers who risked and also lost their lives. God Bless:)

This is the email I received from the WWF Conservation Action Network.

The thoughts and prayers of all of us at World Wildlife Fund go out to the rescue workers, families, friends, and loved ones affected by the tragic events of September 11. As we come together to offer support, assistance, and compassion to one another, let us also further our resolve to leave our children a better world and a healthier planet--one filled with consideration, unity, understanding, and respect.
- Kathryn Fuller, President, World Wildlife Fund

While it is difficult to think of anything else in this time of sadness and unease, WWF urges all of our activists in the United States to take action today to oppose oil drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, the crown jewel of our national wildlife refuge system. Some senators are arguing that we should allow drilling in the refuge as part of a national response to the terrible events of September 11. Now is the time for unity in our country, not the divisive pursuit of narrow ends.
