Wildlife Stories


This past month, I was extremely busy with very little time for writing as well as numerous troubles with my ISP in trying to stay connected for more than 5 minutes. So this month instead of an article, I've provided several links to humorous, interesting and bizarre wildlife stories. Hope you enjoy them!

.... back-seat driving, as always
When an elderly couple stopped to film some bears at Dunraven Pass in Yellowstone, a young bear crawled into their car searching for food. Unable to make the bear leave, the exasperated (but well-dressed) couple drove about 17 miles to the ranger station at Canyon Village with the bear in the backseat. When the husband got out to report the incident, the bear hopped over into the front seat so that investigating rangers found the woman in the passenger seat and the bear behind the wheel.read more...

On a September night much after dark I was at the beaver pond. I saw on the earth of the dam five spots of light glowing steadily. How beautiful! I had never seen anything like this before.I reached into the grasses carefully searching out one of the lights. It moved a little--I was touching it. I scooped a bit of earth and my hands were glowing. I had a star on the end of my finger!!! read more...
