Even though I didn't have a close encounter as I did 2 years ago, we were fortunate to see the wildlife we did. Through-out the week we caught glimpses of a buck, cow elk, moose, grizzly, a squirrel that wanted attention, and we can't forget that pesky crow. All in all, it was a good week enjoying the sights and sounds of the Shoshone National Forest.
If you go to Yellowstone Park, you'll certainly want to camp outside the park and I guarantee you, you'll enjoy yourself. There's so much to see and do. I recommend taking a trail ride. You'll love it! Follow the links below to discover your adventure. Well, I'm off again the end of July; the Boulder River this time. Hopefully we'll be lucky to have wildlife in our neck of the woods. Links: The thumbnails above really don't show what's in a photo so click on the following links to see the full size. Grizzly bear - hard to see him as he kept covered in the trees. Moose - bit blurry but I was out of breath by the time I scrambled up the highway from Pahaska...kept thinking it was a bear when everyone stopped. Deer - he was tucked in the trees but we spotted him. Elk - this one was way up the hillside so it's hard to see her but quite a view early in the morning.
