For the Love of Wild Cats

© Vickie Ferguson

Hi everyone and thank you for visiting my topic, Wild Cats. Since I was a little girl, I've had a love of all feline creatures. Of course, I had domestic cats growing up but as I got older, I discovered the world of lions, tigers, leopards, cheatahs, panthers, jaguars and all the other species like the sandcat, ocelot, and manx, just to name a few.

The beauty and grace of these creatures is unsurpassed, in my eyes, and it's been my priviledge to write about and share information with you.

This will be my last article for this topic and so I wanted to do two things. First, I want to say thank you to the many folks who've visited this site along with my other sites, over the years. I hope you've enjoyed our virtual adventures with the "big kitties".

Wild cats, wild life, endangered species of all shapes and sizes and the environment are all subjects close to my heart and while I will miss this venue for sharing information, I don't want to make it a sad parting. So with that said, I thought of some "cat-associations" this afternoon so that when you think of one thing, it might prompt you to remember the wild cats of the world, their need for support and protection and their need for sufficient habitat so they can survive along with us on this planet.

Here you go:

Lions - Leo of MGM fame. NFL's Detroit Lions.

Tigers - There are two. Tony the Tiger of Kellogg cereal fame and for those of you who are a little older, the Exxon tiger. "Put a Tiger in your tank". We also have the Cincinnati Bengals!

Cheetahs - Well, this one is easy! Chester Cheetah who is the spokes-cat for Cheetoe's.

Panthers- For Florida folks, this is our state cat, so to speak, and one that has had to fight the endangered species title. For Carolina folks, you have the NFL team, Carolina Panthers.

Jaguars - Again, for Florida folks we have the NFL tean, Jacksonville Jaguars.

Northwestern University Wildcats.

University of Kentucky Wildcats.

I bet if you think about it, you can come up with a few of your own!

Thanks again, everyone, and if you'd like to contact me or have questions, I'd like to hear from you all. I currently have a site under construction (Wildlifeonlinesite.com) and hope to have it up and running in the next few weeks. I'd love to hear any requests you might have for what you'd like to see posted.
