Canadian Lynx

Mostly a solitary cat, the lynx will mate once a year between January and March. The female has a litter of between 3 to 4 kittens and they will remain with her for at least a year. When born, they are completely dependent on their mother as it will be many months before their teeth and claws are strong enough for them to participate in a hunt.

The status of the lynx differs in many parts of the world. For example, the Eurasian Lynx is not in danger, the Canadian Lynx is listed as least concerned whereas the Spanish Lynx, is endangered.
