Saving the Wild CatsThe Cheetah Conservation Fund - http://www.cheetah.org/. The Cheetah is the oldest of the great cats and needs our help in order to survive. The Florida Panther Society - http://www.panthersociety.org/index.html promotes the education and research necessary to protect the panther and their environment. EnvironLink - Snow Leopards International Trust - http://www.envirolink.org/external.html?... The Snow Leopard is truly one of the most magnificent of the great cats. There home is in the mountains of Central Asia, a very harsh and unforgiving climate. The Snow Leopard is an elusive cat and has been on the endangered species list since 1972. Their ability to survive in their environment is remarkable. They play an important role in the over ecosystem chain as they are a top predator. If they have a healthy and abundant population it means the overall ecosystem of the area is also surviving as well. Shambala and the Roar Foundation - http://www.shambala.org/shambala.htm. Located in near the Mojave Desert since 1972, Shambala is a sanctuary dedicated to exotic big cats. All of their cats were born in captivity and are completely dependent on human care. Many cats were circus performers or have come from owners who thought they could have a big cat as a pet and found they did not have the resources to care for them. These cats have a home for life at this 80-acre haven and are given the best of care. Tiger Information Center -http://www.5tigers.org/.
