Our Way...the Noletirian Tradition

As we head into the new millineum most of us are striving to balance all aspects of our lives. To do this we must take a spiritual inventory, retiring things that are no longer fulfilling and replenishing what we are lacking. During our own inventory process the Noletirian Tradition was born.

The word Noletirian is actually a combination of two words from an elven dictionary: Nole meaning 'knowledge' and tirian meaning 'watchtower of'. So combined we have the 'watchtower of knowledge' tradition. Many things led to the formation of this 'new' tradition, which is based upon an accumulation of wisdom from many paths and trads, as well as our own personal experience.

At this time in the history of the Craft we feel that we should be passed the 'pointing fingers' stage of religion. It is important to our growth as spiritual creatures, and a spiritual path, that we are accepting of others ways. We can all practice true to ourselves without being threatened by anothers accomplishments or 'policies and procedures'. Unfortuanetly we are human and as such can oftimes be arrogant. There are still those who argue over the semantics of the Craft, prefering to focus on the 'correctness' of this person's claim to be of such and such tradition, or that person's right to perform this or that ritual. Instead of this damaging outlook to the Craft, we should instead be focusing on our common ground and striving to promote an accurate and healthy view of our religion. This was the motivating factor in the formation of the Noletirian way. We wish to disassociate ourselves from the arrogance that so many still maintain in the name of 'saving the faith'. We no longer feel that it's prudent or wise to keep ourselves hidden in the shadows. The only way we can begin to combat the lies and misconceptions that pagans face is to allow others to see the beauty of our faith.

The Noletirian tradition is a spiritual order that utilizes personal insight, learning, ritual and magickal practice to promote personal and group evolution through linking with the universal energy of Deity. Members take an active role in their spiritual development. We celebrae the uniquness of our magickal awareness through coven and personal rituals, sabbats, esbats and discussions.

We are an open tradition. If you choose to follow our path you simply must have an open mind, dedicate yourself to study our ways and the common thread of witchcraft and paganism. We allow a person to claim membership through self-initiation, as well as coven initiation. If a coven wishes to form, we recommend, and utilize in our own group, the three degree system. Many things are flexible about the structure of a Noletirian coven. We adhere to as much tradition as we feel benefits us. Every group must grow and change with time...rigidity leads to breakage. So we maintain tradition while striving to evolve daily. For more specific information on how to begin your own coven, please see our site (http://www.paganvillages.com/OldWays/nol...
