Usually when I make Sloppy Joes I just brown some ground beef and add a can of Manwich sauce and serve. This time I decided to get creative and doctor it up a bit. I also cooked it in a Crockpot. I suppose I should have left well enough alone, though this recipe did get a 4-star rating from both of us. I added a little barbecue sauce to the mix, so my husband said I should call it "BBQ Joes." He thought it was really good, but it just wasn't his old familiar sloppy joe taste.
The meal is definitely easy to prepare. All you have to do is chop up some onion and green pepper, add it to the ground beef browning on the stove, dump the cooked mixture in the Crockpot, add a can of Manwich and half a cup of BBQ sauce, and let it cook for 3-4 hours on high. Not too involved of a process. I'd suggest serving the sandwiches up with a potato or pasta side and a green vegetable. It's a pleasant version of the original Sloppy Joe. Let me know what you think of it! Have a good week and good eating!
