The Perfect Day

How can one have a perfect day?

If so, in our imperfect world, how would we even know?

What would we even classify as 'perfect'?

I suggest some things that would make my day perfect.

1. The boss out of the blue calls and gives every employee (whose name starts with the letter L) the day off with pay, and a bonus as well.

2. My 5 year old gets up, eats ALL of his breakfast, and doesn't pick on his siblings all day.

3. I receive a phone call notifying me that I have won the Publishers Clearing House sweepstakes. (I never even bought a ticket!) Ed Mc Mahon arrives a few minutes later.

4. A package arrives from the publishers of "It was Always the Music" with an free advance copy. Then my wife announces I can listen to ALL of it immediately.

5. A NEW unreleased Roy Rogers full length movie is discovered.

6. My hair comes back!

7. My neighbour boy actually treats his mother respectfully.

8. Tom Selleck and Sam Elliot drop by for a visit.

9. I am bequeathed a COMPLETE Dell comic book collection including Roy Rogers, Gene Autry, The Lone Ranger, Champion, Silver, Trigger, Rex Allen and the Four Colour Series (all with doubles of course-one mint, one a readers copy) It too arrives the same day.

10. My creditors cancel any outstanding balance, and issue credit notes for $500 each! I am not offered another credit card today through the mail.

11. Israel and Palestine declare an immediate binding cease fire, and peace is declared.

12. US and Canadian currencies are immediately evened out.

13. I actually have time to digest all of the changes

14. The Golden Age of heroes returns!

15. The Roy Rogers Museum breaks one million in attendance.

I could more to the list, but I am starting to feel like Aladdin and I have rubbed the magic lamp. Of course, I exhausted the 3 wish limit 12 wishes ago. But this is MY dream, right?

As a collector, there is much we could wish for. As a father, I could wish for a painless existence for my children and family, but this would detract from any worthwhile lessons we learn. As a collector, I could wish for the 'Holy Grail' (Batman, Superman, Action, Wonder Woman, Detective first issues) of comics, books, merchandise, and personal/one of a kind items that would enhance any collection immediately. As a writer, an immediate YES response to any Ranger project I care to undertake, and a healthy advance of course. As a responsible citizen, I could wish for peace on earth, and the full cessation of all hostilities, the banishment of world hunger, the wiping out of all fatal diseases and the end of homelessness.
