The other day, someone asked me what I collected.
I said "Cowboy stuff." "Like what cowboy stuff?" they returned. "Roy Rogers, Gene Autry, Lone Ranger, and so on" I replied. The other person nodded and said "OK" This got me to thinking. There must be (50 ways to leave your lover?), no there must be at least 26 'western' items that you can collect. So, here goes the Lasiuta-collectible Taxonomic System! (or LCT for short) The process is simple. You first describe what you collect. The categories are from A to Z, and follow: A Autographs B 1. Books 2. Belts 3. Bullets (Silver) C. 1. Comics 2. Coins (medallions) 3. Cards (trading) D. 1. Decks of playing cards E. 1. Equines and their accessories (Horses) 2. Estate goods F. 1. Figurines 2. Fine Art object (sculptures, original art) G. 1. Yodeling Z. 1. Zorro! Now that we have your interest identified, we come to the point where we classify your experience. For instance, you could either be novice, intermediate, or a master. In the case of my taxonomy, we identify each by the first 3 letters of the class i.e. Master: MAS (Unequaled by any fan anywhere) Intermediate: INT (A force to be reckoned with) Novice: NOV (Just new, finding his/her way to conventions and dealers) Simple isn't it? Now to the last and best part. We identify your passion level. The choices are: 1. Controlled - You can live without your hobby 2. Out of control- You can't live without your hobby 3. Dead- Your hobby lies in storage waiting for the will probate We designate the levels by AA, BB, or CC in the sequence above. A complete description might look like: AB1C1R3HP1/INT/AA The beauty of this system is that it allows you to communicate without many words about what you collect. However, if you as most collectors like to do, desire to share your treasures with your new friend, please do. But most of all, don't forget to say "I'll give you ...." Go To Page: 1 2
