Winning the Tick Wars

The active ingredients in the Advanced Care drops are Phenothrin and (S)-Methoprene, while the active ingredient in Frontline is Fipronil. But both Phenothrin and Fipronil are neuro-toxins. The symptoms the cats exhibited are pretty much the same as the description of the effect Fipronil has on the insects...twitching, nerve excitation, seizures and death. Didn't sound so promising.

MAXFORCE has just recently updated its web site with ALL the info on this very promising mode of tick control, noting in its FAQ's that the AMOUNT of fipronil needed to kill the ticks on the mouse is very, VERY tiny and your household cat would just have to eat hundreds of thousands of mice in ANY GIVEN DAY in order to suffer any ill effects at all.

Believe me, NO ONE wants a "Back To The Way It Was" magic wand more than I do. My mother couldn't KEEP me in the house as a little kid. I've spent 30 years of my life WORKING outdoors and now, being very grateful for having fully recovered from many battles with a fiercely debilitating illness, I still have the fear of contracting it again.

I do SO wish we could find a way to keep OURSELVES safe no matter WHERE we wander.....BELIEVE me, I'm WORKING on it......but for now, this sounds VERY promising.
